Description

Jacob will return to the land and rest after Egypt is destroyed.

Jeremiah 46:27
KJV:  But fear not thou, O my servant Jacob, and be not dismayed, O Israel: for, behold, I will save thee from afar off, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and be in rest and at ease, and none shall make him afraid.
TNK:  But you, Have no fear, My servant Jacob, Be not dismayed, O Israel! I will deliver you from far away, Your folk from their land of captivity; And Jacob again shall have calm And quiet, with none to trouble him.

Israelites will be taken from all the different countries and God will bring them to their own land.

Ezekiel 36:24
KJV:  For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.

At 1000 cubits (2000 feet or 667 yards) the river was ankle deep.

Ezekiel 47:3
KJV:  And when the man that had the line in his hand went forth eastward, he measured a thousand cubits, and he brought me through the waters; the waters were to the ankles.
TNK:  As the man went on eastward with a measuring line in his hand, he measured off a thousand cubits and led me across the water; the water was ankle deep.

Ezekiel 47:4
KJV:  Again he measured a thousand, and brought me through the waters; the waters were to the knees. Again he measured a thousand, and brought me through; the waters were to the loins.
TNK:  Then he measured off another thousand and led me across the water; the water was knee deep. He measured off a further thousand and led me across the water; the water was up to the waist.

Ezekiel 47:4
KJV:  Again he measured a thousand, and brought me through the waters; the waters were to the knees. Again he measured a thousand, and brought me through; the waters were to the loins.
TNK:  Then he measured off another thousand and led me across the water; the water was knee deep. He measured off a further thousand and led me across the water; the water was up to the waist.

At 4000 cubits (8000 feet) distance, the waters went over the head, an uncrossable river, unless by swimming.

Ezekiel 47:5
KJV:  Afterward he measured a thousand; and it was a river that I could not pass over: for the waters were risen, waters to swim in, a river that could not be passed over.
TNK:  When he measured yet another thousand, it was a stream I could not cross; for the water had swollen into a stream that could not be crossed except by swimming.

The river gets so deep, one has to be brought back to shore (possibly swift currents?).

Ezekiel 47:6
KJV:  And he said unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen this? Then he brought me, and caused me to return to the brink of the river.
TNK:  'Do you see, O mortal?' he said to me; and he led me back to the bank of the stream.

Ezekiel 47:7
KJV:  Now when I had returned, behold, at the bank of the river were very many trees on the one side and on the other.
TNK:  As I came back, I saw trees in great profusion on both banks of the stream.

Ezekiel 47:8
KJV:  Then said he unto me, These waters issue out toward the east country, and go down into the desert, and go into the sea: which being brought forth into the sea, the waters shall be healed.
TNK:  'This water,' he told me, 'runs out to the eastern region, and flows into the Arabah; and when it comes into the sea, into the sea of foul waters, the water will become wholesome.

Everything will live wherever this river goes, and fish will be healed and abundant.

Ezekiel 47:9
KJV:  And it shall come to pass, that every thing that liveth, which moveth, whithersoever the rivers shall come, shall live: and there shall be a very great multitude of fish, because these waters shall come thither: for they shall be healed; and every thing shall live wither the river cometh.
TNK:  Every living creature that swarms will be able to live wherever this stream goes; the fish will be very abundant once these waters have reached there. It will be wholesome, and everything will live wherever this stream goes.

The river will bring an ample supply of fish to shore fishermen of the types found in the Mediterranean Sea. It’s shores will provide for the spreading out of their nets.

Ezekiel 47:10
KJV:  And it shall come to pass, that the fishers shall stand upon it from Engedi even unto Eneglaim; they shall be a place to spread forth nets; their fish shall be according to their kinds, as the fish of the great sea, exceeding many.
TNK:  Fishermen shall stand beside it all the way from En-gedi to En-eglaim; it shall be a place for drying nets; and the fish will be of various kinds [and] most plentiful, like the fish of the Great Sea.

Reasons

The man of God, Moses, offered a blessing (vision of future success) on Israel.

Deuteronomy 33:1
KJV:  And this is the blessing, wherewith Moses the man of God blessed the children of Israel before his death.

The response to the messengers of the Gentiles is that God established Zion.

Isaiah 14:32
KJV:  What shall one then answer the messengers of the nation? That the LORD hath founded Zion, and the poor of his people shall trust in it.
TNK:  And what will he answer the messengers of any nation? That Zion has been established by the Lord: In it, the needy of His people shall find shelter.

The needy people of God (Israelites) will find refuge in Zion.

Isaiah 14:32

The Israelites will have reason to rejoice because of God's placement of teachers of righteousness.

Joel 2:23
KJV:  Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.
TNK:  O children of Zion, be glad, Rejoice in the Lord your God. For He has given you the early rain in [His] kindness, Now He makes the rain fall [as] formerly— The early rain and the late—
PCM:  Members of Zion, rejoice (in circles) and be happy with Yahveh Elohim (God Almighty) who placed teachers to righteousness, and who causes spring and fall rains in the important months.

God will make whole (pay restitution) of two years for the year of damage sent to Israel.

Joel 2:25
KJV:  And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.
