Description

The Lord's slaughter knife is in heavy use on lambs, goats and rams for a sacrifice in Bozrah, and a wide-spread slaughter in Edom.

Isaiah 34:6
KJV:  The sword of the LORD is filled with blood, it is made fat with fatness, and with the blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams: for the LORD hath a sacrifice in Bozrah, and a great slaughter in the land of Idumea.
TNK:  The Lord has a sword; it is sated with blood, It is gorged with fat- The blood of lambs and he-goats, The kidney fat of rams. For the Lord holds a sacrifice in Bozrah, A great slaughter in the land of Edom.

Christ Jesus will come from Edom, with garments stained with the blood (see Revelation 19:13) of Bozrah.

Isaiah 63:1
KJV:  Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel, travelling in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save.

Reasons

Jacob is to be the master of servant Esau.

Genesis 27:37

Moses sent a message to the king of Edom from "brother Israel."

Numbers 20:14
KJV:  And Moses sent messengers from Kadesh unto the king of Edom, Thus saith thy brother Israel, Thou knowest all the travail that hath befallen us:
TNK:  From Kadesh, Moses sent messengers to the king of Edom: 'Thus says your brother Israel: You know all the hardships that have befallen us;

TNK:  Your southern sector shall extend from the wilderness of Zin alongside Edom. Your southern boundary shall start on the east from the tip of the Dead Sea.

Arrogant people who do not obey the priest or judge are to be executed.

Deuteronomy 17:12

A lying prophet speaks arrogantly and people are not to fear him.

Deuteronomy 18:22
KJV:  When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.
TNK:  if the prophet speaks in the name of the Lord and the oracle does not come true, that oracle was not spoken by the Lord; the prophet has uttered it presumptuously: do not stand in dread of him.

Judah's border was along Edom.

Joshua 15:1
KJV:  This then was the lot of the tribe of the children of Judah by their families; even to the border of Edom the wilderness of Zin southward was the uttermost part of the south coast.
TNK:  The portion that fell by lot to the various clans of the tribe of Judah lay farthest south, down to the border of Edom, which is the Wilderness of Zin.

TNK:  Israel then sent messengers to the king of Edom, saying, `Allow us to cross your country.' But the king of Edom would not consent. They also sent a mission to the king of Moab, and he refused. So Israel, after staying at Kadesh,

1 Samuel 21:7

Doeg, an Edomite, killed 85 priests in one day at King Saul's command.

1 Samuel 22:18
KJV:  And the king said to Doeg, Turn thou, and fall upon the priests. And Doeg the Edomite turned, and he fell upon the priests, and slew on that day fourscore and five persons that did wear a linen ephod.
TNK:  Thereupon the king said to Doeg, 'You, Doeg, go and strike down the priests.' And Doeg the Edomite went and struck down the priests himself; that day, he killed eighty-five men who wore the linen ephod.

After rising in Seir, God (Yahvey) will shine forth (send lightning) from Mount Paran.

Deuteronomy 33:2

Esau was called Edom because he devoured Jacob's red stew.
