Reasons

God told Moses to provide two single piece silver trumpets.

Numbers 10:2
KJV:  Make thee two trumpets of silver; of a whole piece shalt thou make them: that thou mayest use them for the calling of the assembly, and for the journeying of the camps.

The silver trumpets are to call people to assemble.

Numbers 10:2
KJV:  Make thee two trumpets of silver; of a whole piece shalt thou make them: that thou mayest use them for the calling of the assembly, and for the journeying of the camps.
TNK:  'Make thee two trumpets of silver; of beaten work shalt thou make them; and they shall be unto thee for the calling of the congregation, and for causing the camps to set forward.

Methods

The sound of the two silver trumpets at an assembly was to order the people to take their places at the door of the Tabernacle.

Numbers 10:3
KJV:  And when they shall blow with them, all the assembly shall assemble themselves to thee at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
TNK:  And when they shall blow with them, all the congregation shall gather themselves unto thee at the door of the tent of meeting.

Subjects: ¦  Assembly ¦  ἐκκλησία ¦  Congregation ¦  Doorway ¦  Entrance ¦  Entryway ¦  Gathering ¦  Meeting ¦  Silver, Made of ¦  Tabernacle, Holy ¦  Threshold ¦  Trumpets, Sounding of ¦  מפתן ¦

Single silver trumpet blowing called only leaders to the Tabernacle doorway.

Numbers 10:4
KJV:  And if they blow but with one trumpet, then the princes, which are heads of the thousands of Israel, shall gather themselves unto thee.
TNK:  And if they blow but with one, then the princes, the heads of the thousands of Israel, shall gather themselves unto thee.

When the silver trumpets sound a shrill loud blast, the camps to the east of the Tabernacle march forward.

Numbers 10:5
KJV:  When ye blow an alarm, then the camps that lie on the east parts shall go forward.
TNK:  And when ye blow an alarm, the camps that lie on the east side shall take their journey.

Subjects: ¦  ἀνατολή ¦  East, Side ¦  Side, East ¦  Sunrise, East ¦  Trumpets, Sounding of ¦

When the silver trumpets give a second shrill sound, the camps to the South of the Tabernacle begin marching forward.

Numbers 10:6
KJV:  When ye blow an alarm the second time, then the camps that lie on the south side shall take their journey: they shall blow an alarm for their journeys.
TNK:  And when ye blow an alarm the second time, the camps that lie on the south side shall set forward; they shall blow an alarm for their journeys.

A perpetual law is that Aaron's priestly sons are to blow the silver trumpets.

Numbers 10:8
KJV:  And the sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow with the trumpets; and they shall be to you for an ordinance for ever throughout your generations.
TNK:  And the sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow with the trumpets; and they shall be to you for a statute for ever throughout your generations.

Making a shrill noise with the silver trumpets when going to war, brings God's attention and the destruction of the enemies.

Numbers 10:10
KJV:  Also in the day of your gladness, and in your solemn days, and in the beginnings of your months, ye shall blow with the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; that they may be to you for a memorial before your God: I am the LORD your God.
TNK:  Also in the day of your gladness, and in your appointed seasons, and in your new moons, ye shall blow with the trumpets over your burnt-offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace-offerings; and they shall be to you for a memorial before your God: I am the LORD your God.'
