Israel needs to be warned of coming disaster

Jeremiah 4:5

God is going to fulfill His rage by destroying the wall and all who worked on it.

The Valley of Jezreel is where God disowns his people.

Hosea 1:10

Reasons

God will have Israel plucked off their land

Deuteronomy 28:63
KJV:  And it shall come to pass, that as the LORD rejoiced over you to do you good, and to multiply you; so the LORD will rejoice over you to destroy you, and to bring you to nought; and ye shall be plucked from off the land whither thou goest to possess it.

Thinking God is providing officials to ensure their safety in Babylon missing the whole point. God is judging Israel for her sins. Those in Babylon are being spared the atrocities of being left in Israel to experience the full brunt of punishment

Ezekiel was to preach against the prophets of Israel because they fabricate prophecies (messages from God).

The Lord God (Master Yahveh) has spoken woe to the self-absorbed (evil, nabal) prophets.

Ezekiel 13:3
KJV:  Thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe unto the foolish prophets, that follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing!
TNK:  Thus said the Lord God: Woe to the degenerate prophets, who follow their own fancy, without having had a vision!

God says that foolish (nabal) prophets speak of imaginary things that do not exist.

Ezekiel 13:3
KJV:  Thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe unto the foolish prophets, that follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing!
TNK:  Thus said the Lord God: Woe to the degenerate prophets, who follow their own fancy, without having had a vision!

Prophets are to build walls of spiritual protection that will withstand battles.

Ezekiel 13:5
KJV:  Ye have not gone up into the gaps, neither made up the hedge for the house of Israel to stand in the battle in the day of the LORD.
TNK:  You did not enter the breaches and repair the walls for the House of Israel, that they might stand up in battle in the day of the Lord.

TNK:  You did not enter the breaches and repair the walls for the House of Israel, that they might stand up in battle in the day of the Lord.

The prophets of Israel envision imaginary and false predictions, but claim they came from God (Yahveh).

Ezekiel 13:6
