Dangerous Existence

Isaiah 24:17 presents a very real picture of the dangers of living after major catastrophes in areas where mankind has lived. Cities especially are filled with dangerous traps, sink holes from all the underground passageways and sewer systems. The rubble left behind is a maze of death traps. After a major disaster, the survivors have to get about to find food and shelter, but the process takes their lives, especially when they are lone survivors.

Before the Savior of the World can come with his mighty saints, the world is going to be devastated. The world socialist system is going to destroy much of the world’s production industry, and it is also going to destroy city maintenance and repair systems. The “natural” disasters of the world wide fires and earthquakes will destroy the rest that is left from the world-wide plunder of a world wide government system.

The few that survive the holocaust of this world are going to find life very precarious. There are numbers of things to be alert and aware of, in a time when a person is famished, weak, wounded and in very poor condition. As they emerge from the rubbles that held them, they will be confronted by the remains of a thousand death traps. Areas they enter will be unstable and ready to fall on them in an instant. The ground they walk on could give way at any moment to the chambers below and trap them there.

The verse begins with the terror that overcomes people that still remain alive. They will be very easily spooked and overwhelmed with fear. Anything could spell the end of their lives and they know it. They will be very careful when they move, watching for anything that might be a threat to their safety and survival. Only God will be able to help them, since living on earth has become so dangerous.

An area not mentioned in this verse is the state of animals. They too will be dangerous and in danger.

In this state of precariousness, where life is hanging on by a thread, people will finally be ready to glorify God and beg for his help, the world over. There will be a revival, but only after the world and its systems are completely trashed and destroyed. All hope of mankind being able to wage a war against God must be removed before mankind will turn to Him for help. It is amazing how stubborn mankind is when it comes to that which is right and holy. It is a shame that God has to let things get so terribly bad before He can be accepted for who He is.

Accept God today, and don’t wait to the bitter end when things will get this bad!

Naughty Syria

The land of Syria is a strange land. Abraham and the Israelites came from family that settled there once they left the Fertile Crescent. Isaac & Jacob’s brides’ came from family there. But as with any power, the land was hostile toward Israel during its existence, and things have not changed today. The only way Israel was kept from continually battling Syria, was when Syria was subjugated by outside power.

Syria has made incursions into Israel three times so far, crossing the boundaries God set for them and Israel, in pure violation of God’s law. This led to the breaking down of Syria until recent history.

There is no secret about the fact that Syria today is filled with the utmost hate toward Israel and the Jewish people. It wants Israel destroyed and finds rare Arab connections by joining in the fight to destroy Israel. It hosts Iran’s soldiers and helps fund them in the constant attacks on Israel property.

So far, Syria has not made much headway, and in fact has lost property in their endeavors. Israel knows that any day now, there will be a major attack from Syria and a drive to reduce Israel’s already precariously small borders.

Of course, Syria has no need of Israel’s land, nor does Israel pose any threat to Syria’s existence. If anything, Israel is a great aide because it causes a distraction for the many warring factions in Syria, so that the kings can live royally.

But, Amos 1:3 warns that Syria is going to come with bull dozers and completely scar and destroy all the land of Gilead. Any Israeli towns and villages will be destroyed and they will not have any concern about preserving the life of any Jewish people in their attack.

In other words, Syria’s plans to destroy Israel and take the northern part of the land of Jordan will be carried out. God will note it and when He comes in His Ultimate and Full Rage, God will first roar against Damascus and then destroy the nation and people.

So, although Syria poses a very real and immediate danger to Israel, and will at least partially accomplish its plans against Israel, God will have the final say, and Syria will have no standing before God. The people are corrupt and hate God to such a point there is nothing to redeem or salvage from this heathen land. And the story ends very well, at last Israel will be freed from one more outrageous neighbor, with which there can be no peace, as long as they exist.

So while Syria may think they are winning, they will loose everything in the end and very rightfully so.

Take a look at the future of Syria! God wants His followers to know the facts and how the story will end, so they can remain faithful then things look to be going horribly wrong!

Shepherding Wild and Domestic Animals

Isaiah 11:7 has a very interesting meaning. Bears and Cows with young will be shepherded together. They will spend their time together and raise their young together.

This may be the missing element we have in the dairy herds today. Cows are easily spooked and a whole dairy can loose significant amounts of milk if the cows sense something is wrong.

With sheep, we have goats to keep the sheep calm and happy. But with cows, they don’t have any protector today except the shepherd, who is not usually present in a comforting way.

What if the purpose of the bear was to be able to defend the cows and calves, and so are equipped to do so? Perhaps the bear does not want to be a lonely creature, that reacts violently even to humans and is seen as an absolute threat to the farmer today.

When God changes the climate and atmosphere back to where it supports life better, the bear may not be in such a hungry wild state, that it could be herded with calving cows and serve as their protector, keeping other animals away during this precarious time.

The last phrase is the most telling. The lion will eat the silage that plow oxen eat. Instead of seeking meat, they will eat high protein cattle feed! This means that not only their natures will be changed, but their nutritional needs and digestive system will return to its previous function on handling vegetation.

Sorry farmer! The dream of having lions pulling plows is not part of the picture! But, how about an animal that stands by your plow ox and protects him, keeping him from being picked on by other animals? How about an animal that loves to comb and clean your oxen’s hide? How about an animal that loves the oxen that likes to play with them, and keep them active and happy? Wouldn’t that be a big asset to a farm?

Now offer the same kind of care and concern to the mother cow. Let her hide be licked with the bear’s tongue. Let her ears be scratched with the smaller claws of a friendly bear.  Let the bugs be kept at bay by a bear! Also have a bear to make sure the calf does not stray too far from its mother, and is kept from dangerous areas. What farmer would not mind feeding an extra animal that offers all that to his cows? Fencing would probably not be needed after a while. Vet bills would become a thing almost of the past. Farmers would be able to sleep better at night and spend less time fussing over trivial matters during the day.

So what are we waiting for? If you are waiting for the government to force this to happen, you will never survive as a farmer, because the government simply cannot figure out the problem of predation today. They want to think that the wildest and most dangerous animal is actually a harmless creature forced to be evil. As long and officials live in a dream world, they will never be of benefit. God, however, created all animals and knows their true nature and what the reasons were each was created. He can easily change things back to His plan. All He needs is for those created in His image (mankind) to turn and embrace Him completely. The rest will follow. But just as we cannot remove the wild and dangerous nature from the wild animals, we cannot change the heart of ungodly politicians. Both need to be removed from society for it to prosper in this day and age!
