God’s Clearing of the Earth

Isaiah 24:1 talks about how God is going to clear off the earth on His Day! The terms have been translated in the terms of one who loves the world, the buildings, the people, the temples, the immoral artwork, the general glitter and glamour of amusements and entertainments.

But there is a holy and pure view of such things and the way things are today cannot be left with a pure and holy society. They must go! The filth and immorality of mankind have polluted the earth, the ground, the waters, the seas, and the atmosphere. The skies are filled with useless debris that governments and mega-businesses use in all kinds of evil snooping and entertaining.

So, God announces that He is going to empty things out! He is simply going to clear away the detritus and pollution so that there will be a fresh and clean earth on which to build a proper way of life.

The first action word of “laid waste” is actually to empty something out. It is to take the contents of something and dispose of it, or pour it away. It is similar to taking some kind of awful drink and flushing it down the toilet. It is the purging of the earth of everything so that it is fresh and clean and ready for use.

The next action is that of making it “waste” or open. It is the removal of all the clutter that abounds on the earth so that it is open and cleared of junk. It is speaking of the removal of the buildings and contents as well as the huge expanses of buildings and clutter that mankind puts on the earth and covers the land. We make the best of soils useless by covering it up and hiding it under monstrosities. The land needs a complete clearing by God so that mankind can begin to live as He desires in an uncluttered, calm, quiet and holy atmosphere, free of immorality, temptations of every type and endless attempts at programming and brainwashing that goes on all the time in a city.

The next action is to twist the surface and distort it so that it does not have the old landmarks and buried filth of this world. The earth had one huge upheaval in Noah’s day that turned the earth upside down and crushed almost all evidence of the world before the Flood of Noah. God will do this again, removing the foundations that have been dug and uprooting the diggings and underground systems that exist. God will in essence plow up the world and plow under the cities so that they are no longer around to be found.

Then the last action will be to scatter away the people that lived in an area. The worst thing that could be done is to allow a civilization to rebuild. Evil kingdoms of the past have been destroyed for the good of all mankind. Usually their own depravity brings on plagues and a lack of an ability to withstand attacks of all kinds. This leaves them susceptible to destruction, but the ruins entice stupid people to try to rebuild the old gross societies and once again establish that which God destroyed. God will not only turn the land upside down and inside out, but He will drive the few survivors away from the area, so they have to become established in a new areas, without the cohesion and support that mankind tends toward from the times of Cain and then the Tower of Babel.

So it is not so much that God is going to destroy everything, but the words indicate He is going to open things up and clear away the junk that we are surrounded with everywhere! Sure, if you love the filth of this world, you would call it ruined and lost, but if you love God and want the best for mankind, you will call it opened up and cleared away! You will call it fresh and clean. You will call it a new heaven and a new earth!

Mount Olivet Split

We are reviewing and reworking Zechariah 14 and today had the fourth verse!

What a hidden gem! Christ is going to touch down and stand on the Mount of Olives. At that point the mountain will split into two halves and create a wide open valley.

I always thought their would be a little gorge or rift, and that it would be scary going in the little space, requiring a great deal of faith.

Not so, the Mount will break apart and plow open a large, clean, fresh space for God’s remnant of holy Israelites to enter.

The southern half of the mountain will flatten and fill in the area as it moves toward the Negev. The northern half of Olivet will flatten and fill in the area heading toward the north.

So what will this mean? It means the Arab sections will be completely destroyed just east of the Temple Mount. Only God knows how much of the mountain will be moved, but if the whole elevated portion of the mount just east of the temple platform is included, the sweeping movement will pulverize all the Arab quarters from Bethlehem to Ramallah.

This will leave a clean area, free of graves, and other pollution going back 5,000 years! God’s holy remnant of Israelites will have that vast open area to swarm into, and await the saving work of their Messiah.

But isn’t the destruction of the Arab lands a horrible thing? Frankly, the Arabs in the region are there only to force the Israelites out of their land and to see that no Jewish person survives. They are so bent on destroying Israel, they cannot be reasoned with, any more than Moses could reason with the Egyptian Pharaoh, before the Jewish people were given the land around Jerusalem.

The only way to gain peace in Israel is for every Arab to be removed permanently from the full land of Israel which is a vast area laid out by God, the Creator. The Israelites have never obeyed God in removing these heathen peoples, so God will have to step in and do it Himself. Obviously, God is extending every chance for the Arab to convert, but the majority of Arabs have hardened their hearts to hate God and His people.
