Even the King of Babylon Dies

The Bible study for today, taken from Isaiah 14:16, make some important statements about the coming Antichrist. From the context we learn that Antichrist will be indwelt by Lucifer, and is identified as the king of Babylon.

When this terrifying, deified, horror of a man is killed, the world will gain perspective, realizing that at the end of the day, humans are just humans. They do not have powers that last beyond their grave. Once her soul is committed to hell, there is no need to be afraid of them. While there are alive, they may terrify everyone, and seem unstoppable, but once they’re dead, they’re dead.

The words used in the text make it clear that those that look on the carcass of the king of Babylon will suddenly become aware of what defines being human. They will also gain perspective on the limits of power. It will finally occur to them how important it is to honor God and not those that try to supplant Him. It is the death of the king of Babylon that causes the earth to learn a lesson.

This is not at all a surprise to the child of God who studies the Word of God. God uses everything for the benefit of His children. Not only will the saints of God in heaven rejoice over the destruction of the Man of Sin, there is benefit derived from it. In this situation those still living on the earth, having survived the destruction that the king of Babylon wreaked upon them, and having survived the multiple disasters that God sent to purify and cleanse the earth, will learn an important lesson in leadership and politics. God is not a man. God alone is to be honored. God alone is to be revered. Anyone that claims to have answers outside of God has no right to be in leadership.

New Jerusalem living

Today’s thoughts come from the study of Revelation 22:3 in the Prophecy Guide.

What a place to be! God’s throne will be there and Christ’s throne as well! Those that live there will have ready access to the throne and will also serve as representatives of God, being there enables them to see first hand how God handles things, so they can emulate Him in the areas they work.

There will never be the delivering to destruction in New Jerusalem. If you are there you are “safe” from the curses of anyone. No one will be able to declare you are to be delivered to destruction. It just will not be done!

Next, the slaves of the Lord Jesus will be paid! There will not be any forced service, but service done for the Lord will be rewarded. This puts things into perspective today. Are we willing to serve the Lord without pay, just because we love God will all of our being? Are we willing to follow His plan today, just because we cannot stand living any other way? Such people are bound for the New Jerusalem, where the dedicated to God live, and where, although slaves to God, because of redemption, they are paid slaves! They have an income from the service they perform! Our work for God is a form of worship, so we are paid as if we were priests of God.

If you are not preparing for eternity, please get serious today. Every day we are not given over to learning to serve God here, is another day lost to eternity. Prepare to be a citizen of the New Jerusalem. The benefits far outweigh the discomfort.
