Dangerous Existence

Isaiah 24:17 presents a very real picture of the dangers of living after major catastrophes in areas where mankind has lived. Cities especially are filled with dangerous traps, sink holes from all the underground passageways and sewer systems. The rubble left behind is a maze of death traps. After a major disaster, the survivors have to get about to find food and shelter, but the process takes their lives, especially when they are lone survivors.

Before the Savior of the World can come with his mighty saints, the world is going to be devastated. The world socialist system is going to destroy much of the world’s production industry, and it is also going to destroy city maintenance and repair systems. The “natural” disasters of the world wide fires and earthquakes will destroy the rest that is left from the world-wide plunder of a world wide government system.

The few that survive the holocaust of this world are going to find life very precarious. There are numbers of things to be alert and aware of, in a time when a person is famished, weak, wounded and in very poor condition. As they emerge from the rubbles that held them, they will be confronted by the remains of a thousand death traps. Areas they enter will be unstable and ready to fall on them in an instant. The ground they walk on could give way at any moment to the chambers below and trap them there.

The verse begins with the terror that overcomes people that still remain alive. They will be very easily spooked and overwhelmed with fear. Anything could spell the end of their lives and they know it. They will be very careful when they move, watching for anything that might be a threat to their safety and survival. Only God will be able to help them, since living on earth has become so dangerous.

An area not mentioned in this verse is the state of animals. They too will be dangerous and in danger.

In this state of precariousness, where life is hanging on by a thread, people will finally be ready to glorify God and beg for his help, the world over. There will be a revival, but only after the world and its systems are completely trashed and destroyed. All hope of mankind being able to wage a war against God must be removed before mankind will turn to Him for help. It is amazing how stubborn mankind is when it comes to that which is right and holy. It is a shame that God has to let things get so terribly bad before He can be accepted for who He is.

Accept God today, and don’t wait to the bitter end when things will get this bad!

Naughty Syria

The land of Syria is a strange land. Abraham and the Israelites came from family that settled there once they left the Fertile Crescent. Isaac & Jacob’s brides’ came from family there. But as with any power, the land was hostile toward Israel during its existence, and things have not changed today. The only way Israel was kept from continually battling Syria, was when Syria was subjugated by outside power.

Syria has made incursions into Israel three times so far, crossing the boundaries God set for them and Israel, in pure violation of God’s law. This led to the breaking down of Syria until recent history.

There is no secret about the fact that Syria today is filled with the utmost hate toward Israel and the Jewish people. It wants Israel destroyed and finds rare Arab connections by joining in the fight to destroy Israel. It hosts Iran’s soldiers and helps fund them in the constant attacks on Israel property.

So far, Syria has not made much headway, and in fact has lost property in their endeavors. Israel knows that any day now, there will be a major attack from Syria and a drive to reduce Israel’s already precariously small borders.

Of course, Syria has no need of Israel’s land, nor does Israel pose any threat to Syria’s existence. If anything, Israel is a great aide because it causes a distraction for the many warring factions in Syria, so that the kings can live royally.

But, Amos 1:3 warns that Syria is going to come with bull dozers and completely scar and destroy all the land of Gilead. Any Israeli towns and villages will be destroyed and they will not have any concern about preserving the life of any Jewish people in their attack.

In other words, Syria’s plans to destroy Israel and take the northern part of the land of Jordan will be carried out. God will note it and when He comes in His Ultimate and Full Rage, God will first roar against Damascus and then destroy the nation and people.

So, although Syria poses a very real and immediate danger to Israel, and will at least partially accomplish its plans against Israel, God will have the final say, and Syria will have no standing before God. The people are corrupt and hate God to such a point there is nothing to redeem or salvage from this heathen land. And the story ends very well, at last Israel will be freed from one more outrageous neighbor, with which there can be no peace, as long as they exist.

So while Syria may think they are winning, they will loose everything in the end and very rightfully so.

Take a look at the future of Syria! God wants His followers to know the facts and how the story will end, so they can remain faithful then things look to be going horribly wrong!

Previously Wild with the Prey

It’s been a while since I blogged about my daily Bible Study! I have learned much and really enjoy these times each day.

Today’s study was the finishing up of Isaiah 11: 6 where the famous statements about wolves being with sheep and lions with cows is made.

However, what seems to be missed in normal commentating from the English translations and interpretations is the precise Hebrew wording of the verse.

The much tamed wolf will temporarily join the young male lambs of the flock. The Hebrew term is to sojourn, or be dependent on the hospitality of strangers. The wolf, in other words, is going to be dependent on the young male rams, and will have to follow the rules of the farmer to be able to pasture. The wolf will be a guest of the rams being raised for sacrifice or eating. Perhaps the wolf will provide the necessary missing element in sheep, by exercising them and playing with them, and helping them stay away from situations they are not safe to enter. As such, wolves would be welcome to a flock, in the same way dogs are used to help herd sheep today.

The next phrase is also a bit different. The panther will recline or repose with the young male kid goats. The point is they do are not raised together, they will join the young bucks when they are resting. Young bucks are not in need of exercise or being herded away from dangerous situations like sheep. They do not need to be kept from embankments (sheep slip and roll onto their backs and if not found die), be kept away from thickets (where their wool entangles with the branches and so traps a sheep), or tend to be lazy and in need of exercise. The idea presented is that in the heat of the day, when the male kids are taking their afternoon nap, and seeking shade, the panther may join them and be accepted temporarily.

The third phrase is about the lion and calf. This is a young male calf that is being fattened up for sacrifice or eating, and somewhat confined, but given lots of food. Young male lions (who can jump just about any kind of fence) will join the young ox and share the food.

The three phrases strongly imply the fulfillment of the first orders given to mankind. Humans were to have dominion over all the created animals. They were to control even the wild animals, and set boundaries for everything. Wolves will be tolerated as long as they are helpful and serve a purpose among the young rams. Panthers and leopards will be permitted to rest briefly with the male kid goats. Young lions will be allowed to share the food of young male cows being fattened for market.

The safety factor will be such that teenage boys will be able to competently herd and control the domesticated animals and the wild ones. The townsmen will not be called together to hunt down these vile predators as they have had to be hunted throughout mankind’s history, upon the suggestion or sighting of one in an area.

The ridiculous anti farming and anti human government rules today of protecting these evil animals is outrageous. They cannot be permitted to roam freely and under protected status. The only place they can be permitted is in zoos or in completely wild and uninhabited places (an African safari?).

Today wolves are dangerous not only to sheep, but to humans as well. They are a dangerous pack animal, that if left to multiply will fulfill the prophecy of the animals turning on humans and killing them in numbers. Of course, the more we protect wolves, panthers and lions, the more humans are being killed on a daily basis even in towns and cities. The higher their numbers go, even congested city citizens will find themselves in great danger.

So today, farmers are spending a great deal of money on fencing and patrols and all kinds of methods to try to keep wild animals away from their precious stock of domesticated animals. No matter how much the government thinks they have the power to have them co-exist with their predators as they think this verse states, they do not! Only the Messiah can bring about the changes necessary, and He can only do it will an iron fist (rod of iron). Oh, and the first thing to go will be every government official of any kind to be replaced by only those who are actually qualified! What a different day that will be!
