Keep, Part 2

I was hoping to finish the Gospels today, but time has run out. However, the word “keep” was used of Mary’s spikenard that was carefully guarded for the Lord Jesus. Because it was of high value, this means that it had to be carefully hidden, guarded, and checked on regularly, with its safety ever in her mind. It is also used in John of the fact that those that truly love the Lord Jesus are going to reverently observe and follow the commands of Scripture. Put the two uses together, and you have how Christians should follow the commands of Scripture every moment of every day, and how they should work to preserve the message from not only distortion by the ungodly, but from destruction!
