Origin of the Church

  1. Old Testament did not experience a “seal” or the “earnest” of the Spirit, Ephesians 1:13
  2. Death of Christ broke wall of partition between Jew and Gentile, Ephesians 2:11-13
  3. Christ became head of church when He was seated at the right hand of God, and the Holy Spirit descended, John 7:39; 14:20; Ephesians 1:20
  4. The Church began at Pentecost when the coming of the Holy Spirit upon the waiting disciples changed them from an assembly of individuals to a corporate body, Acts 1:5; I Corinthians 12:12-13.
